2. “Designing Courses and Materials for the Teaching of Compulsory English at the Undergraduate Level in Gujarat” – An Independent Mini-Research Project funded by the UGC, New Delhi in 1990-92.

Proposed
Implications of the Neurofunctional Theory of Language for English Language Teaching, by collaborating with neurologists in some institutions of mental health in the country so as to study the changes that take place in the clusters of neurons during the process of learning a language, the obstacles that come in way of proper learning, the various changes that occur in the composition of neurons when we process and/or produce language different from that in day-today use, and try to answer questions related to all these.

Management of English Language Teaching in Gujarat, with the focus of inquiry being not on Management of English Language Teaching rather than Management in English Language Teaching. The idea is to make an attempt to understand what might have gone wrong with the management of English Language Teaching so as to formulate strategies to overcome the impediments.
